“A composer who savours lyrical lines and harmonies peppered with gentle spices”(Gramophone), composer Juliana Hall specializes in art song, monodrama, and vocal chamber music described as “brilliant” (Washington Post), “stunning” (Planet Hugill, London) and “the most genuinely moving music of the afternoon” (Boston Globe). Heard in concerts at the 92nd Street Y, Library of Congress, Ojai Music Festival, Oxford Lieder Festival, Wigmore Hall, and Tanglewood, Hall is a Guggenheim Fellow who has received SongFest’s prestigious Sorel Commission, and she has had the honor of writing works for vocal luminaries Brian Asawa, Stephanie Blythe, Molly Fillmore, Anthony Dean Griffey, Zachary James, Randall Scarlata, Dawn Upshaw, and Kitty Whately.
