Lyric Fest offers the next installment in our Biography in Music Series, this time celebrating one of the luminaries of the Great American Songbook, Kurt Weill. This supremely adaptable musician began composing in his homeland of Germany in classical and German cabaret style, then fled to France when the Nazis came to power. He finally settling in the United States, where for over a decade he figured as one of the most distinctive voices in the American popular style. Letters, Life, and Songs with Jim Bergwall reading, and with singers Devony Smith, Suzanne DuPlantis, Richard Troxell, and Musa Ngqungwana, all with Laura Ward, piano.
