Tenor Bryan Hymel, who sang in three Lyric Fest concerts between 2006 and 2008 (see our Archives) received today the Metropolitan Opera’s prestigious Beverly Sills award. This award is given once a year to a vocalist between 25 and 40 years of age who has appeared in a featured role on the Metropolitan Opera stage. Hymel sang Berlioz’s Les Troyens at the Met, stepping in for a tenor who had to withdraw from this very demanding role.
Congratulations Bryan!
