Laura Madeleine has been a collaborating artist with Lyric Fest. Her fine art batik work was the inspiration for a body of poems that were set to music by Kile Smith during his artist in residency with Lyric Fest. The resulting cycle, In This Blue Room, was premiered in 2015, and was subsequently recorded on Naxos.
Laura Madeleine has had a long career as an exhibiting fine artist. She works exclusively in the technique based on batik, or wax resist, that she developed for over two decades. She is also a fine artist activist, and teacher.
