A double-concert offering, these two programs together explore the inward journey of love and loss. Join Lyric Fest for a special weekend featuring Schubert’s great masterwork, Die Winterreise, performed Friday by Randall Scarlata and Laura Ward, followed by Sunday’s concert of two newly commissioned song cycles inspired by Schubert’s cycle. The new works by composers Andrea Clearfield and Daron Hagen were commissioned by Lyric Fest in commemoration of its 10th Anniversary season. A meet-the-composer talk with Clearfield and Hagen follows the Sunday performance.
